Getting started

What is private label skincare manufacturing?

Private label means we manufacture products from our proven formulas and you sell them under your own brand name and packaging. You get a market-ready product without building a lab or a factory.

What is the difference between private label, white label and custom formulation?

White label is the same product sold to many brands unchanged. Private label lets you adjust fragrance, texture, size and packaging. Custom formulation creates a new product to your brief that belongs to your brand alone.

Who do you work with?

Doctors, dermatologists, aesthetic clinics, pharmacies, salons, e-commerce sellers, influencers and established brands in Pakistan and the Gulf.

Can I launch a brand with no experience?

Yes. Our brand development step covers naming, brand story, product planning and packaging design, and your account manager guides every stage.

How do I get started?

Book a free consultation by phone, WhatsApp or in person at our Lahore facility. Bring your idea; we bring the plan.

Money, minimums and timelines

What is your minimum order quantity?

Our standard MOQ is 500 pieces per product for catalogue formulas. Custom formulations have higher minimums depending on batch size. Ask us about starter bundles.

How long does it take to launch a brand?

It depends on whether you start from a catalogue formula or develop a new one, and on how quickly samples and artwork are approved. We give you dated stages at the consultation and confirm them in writing with your quote, rather than quoting a timeline we cannot hold.

What are your payment terms?

Orders are confirmed with an advance and the balance falls due before dispatch. The exact split is set out in your written quote before anything is committed.

How much does it cost to start?

It depends on the products, the sizes and the packaging you choose, so we do not publish a single figure that would be wrong for most people. Send us your product list and quantities and we will send a written quote within 24 hours, itemised so you can see what each part costs.

Is there a development fee for custom formulas?

Yes. Custom development carries a fee per formula, and it is set against your first production order. We confirm the exact figure in writing with your brief, before any work starts.

Can I get pricing before committing?

Yes. Share your product list and quantities and we will send a quote and the catalogue. There is no obligation.

Products, samples and quality

Can I get samples before ordering?

Yes. We prepare samples of each product for you to see, feel and test, and revisions are included until you approve. Custom samples are covered by the development fee. Ask us for the current turnaround and sample cost when you send your product list.

Can I customise an existing formula?

Yes. Fragrance, colour, texture, size and minor active adjustments are available at no development fee.

What products can you manufacture?

Serums (including PDRN and exosome), sunscreens, face washes, moisturisers, brightening and anti-acne ranges, toners, masks, hair care, body care, professional peels and oral beauty shots.

Are your products tested?

Every batch passes in-house quality checks, and products are tested at PCSIR for physical, chemical and microbial parameters. Stability data is compiled for your files.

Do you use hydroquinone, steroids or mercury in brightening products?

No. Our brightening range uses alpha arbutin, kojic acid, tranexamic acid, niacinamide and vitamin C.

Are your products Halal?

Yes. Our manufacturing is Halal certified, and we source Halal-compliant ingredients, including collagen.

Do you offer natural, vegan or fragrance-free options?

Yes, on request for most formulas. Tell us which of the three matters to your brand and we will confirm what is possible for each product.

For doctors and clinics

Do you help doctors with DRAP requirements?

Yes. We classify each product, prepare the product file and test reports where DRAP enlistment applies, and guide you through the brand-owner documents.

Do you offer a named account manager?

Yes. Every client has one point of contact from consultation to reorder.

Do I need DRAP approval for a moisturiser or cleanser?

Not if it contains no drug substance and makes only cosmetic claims. It must meet the applicable Pakistan Standard — for creams that is PS 3228 — under PSQCA, and the factory making it holds the PSQCA Certification Mark licence for compulsory categories such as skin cream and shampoo.

When does a skincare product become a "medicated cosmetic"?

When it contains a drug listed in Schedule-1 of the DRAP Act, or when it makes a therapeutic claim. Natural-ingredient derma-care products and medicated cosmetics are enlisted with DRAP’s Health & OTC Division; drug-containing creams need drug registration, which is a different route.

What is "enlistment" and how is it different from registration?

Enlistment is a provisional entry in DRAP’s register that permits manufacture and marketing while full licensing rules are pending. It is renewable — renewal costs half the initial fee — and it can be revoked for non-compliance.

Can my clinic be the enlistment holder if Dermis & Dosis makes the product?

The rules define a "contract giver" who owns the brand and a "contract acceptor" who manufactures. In practice DRAP’s contract-manufacturing approval is currently framed manufacturer to manufacturer, so most doctor brands are enlisted from the manufacturer’s facility under the doctor’s trademark, with a private-label agreement. We advise on the structure DRAP will accept for your file.

Who owns the brand and the formula?

You own your brand, your trademark and your customer relationships. Formula ownership depends on the service: catalogue formulas remain ours, and custom formulas can be made exclusive to you on terms we agree and record in writing. Everything is set out in the private-label agreement before work starts.

How long does DRAP enlistment take?

DRAP processes files first come, first served and publishes the queue. There is no statutory deadline, so plan for several months. Development, testing and packaging run in parallel, so you are not waiting idle.

Can I sell in my clinic and in pharmacies?

Yes. We supply backbar sizes for in-clinic use and retail packs for dispensing or pharmacy distribution, each with compliant labelling.

Can I run patient trials before production?

Yes. Our trials step includes patch tests and real-use trials with feedback sheets, so you can validate tolerance and results before we scale.

Can you make professional-use products such as peels?

Yes, with "professional use only" labelling and usage protocols.

Packaging and printing

Do you print packaging in-house?

Yes. We source bottles, jars, tubes, droppers and airless pumps, and we print labels, cartons and boxes in-house at Dermis & Dosis Print.

Can I use my own packaging?

Yes. We can fill into approved packaging you supply after compatibility checks.

Do you design labels and boxes?

Yes. Our designers prepare compliant artwork and 3D mockups for your approval, laid out to Pakistan's marking rules.

Logistics and export

Do you deliver across Pakistan?

Yes, to any city via courier or freight, and to your distributor.

Can you support export to UAE or Saudi Arabia?

Our Halal and ISO documentation supports GCC registration, and we advise on label requirements for the market you are entering. Tell us the destination and we will confirm exactly what your file needs.

Is Halal certification mandatory?

Certification is voluntary, but Pakistan Standard PS 3228 requires skin-cream ingredients to be of Halal origin. To print a Halal logo, the product is certified by a body accredited by the Pakistan National Accreditation Council, which audits ingredients, suppliers, process and labels.

Can I visit the factory?

Yes. Book a tour of our Lahore facility and we will walk you through formulation, filling, quality control and the printing unit.

[ The regulatory route ]

Which regulator, and what we file

Launching a skincare line in Pakistan means satisfying two regulators, and a Halal certifier if you want the logo on the pack. Which rules apply depends on what is in the formula and what the label promises.

  1. We classify each product before we formulate it

  2. We build the file while your sample is in trial

  3. We test in accredited laboratories

  4. We hold the regulatory relationship. You hold the brand.

  5. We make the pack itself compliant

  6. We keep it compliant

Government fees are modest. Under the 2025 schedule it is Rs 6,300 per locally manufactured health product enlistment and Rs 19,900 for a manufacturer or contract-giver enlistment.

The real cost is time. DRAP publishes no fixed timeline and works its queue first come, first served, so plan for several months and let development, testing and packaging run in parallel.

This is guidance based on the DRAP Act 2012, the Enlistment Rules 2014, the 2025 fee schedule and PS 3228. It is not legal advice, and DRAP practice can change. We confirm the route for your specific products before anything is filed.
