Every doctor's income has the same ceiling: the hours in a clinic day. A skincare range under your own name is one of the few ways to earn beyond it without seeing more patients. Your patients already ask what to use at home. Today that advice ends in a pharmacy, buying someone else's brand. With your own range, it ends at your front desk, with your name on the box.
Dermis & Dosis makes private label skincare in Lahore for doctors, dermatologists and aesthetic clinics. This guide explains how a doctor's brand earns, how much of it is really passive, what our team handles, and how to do it in a way your patients will thank you for.
Why a brand in your name earns twice
A doctor's own range pays in two ways: the income from each product sold, and the value it adds to your name.
- Income that does not need your time. Once the range is made, every sale happens without another consultation. A patient who finishes a sunscreen or a serum comes back for the next one.
- Stronger margins. Own-brand products usually leave more margin than reselling an imported brand, because there is no importer and no distributor between you and the product.
- Patients keep buying from you. The products you recommend are bought from you, not from a marketplace, and not swapped for a cheaper copy on the way home.
- Your name goes home with the patient. A well-made box on a bathroom shelf is a reminder of your clinic every morning, and it is what patients show family and friends when they ask who looks after their skin.
- Better results from your treatments. Consistent aftercare improves treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction. When the routine is yours, you know exactly what your patient is using.
How passive is it, honestly?
Mostly, but not entirely, and it is worth being clear about the difference. The work of making a product is large: formulation, testing, regulatory paperwork, packaging design, printing, production, quality control and reorders. All of that is ours. What remains is yours, and it is small:
- Choose: decide which products fit your practice. We help you plan the range.
- Approve: try the samples, sign off the formula, and approve the artwork once.
- Recommend: suggest the range to the patients it suits, as you already do with other brands.
The income depends on one thing we cannot do for you: patients choosing to buy. That is why the range should be built around the conditions you already see every day, and why the products have to be good enough that patients come back for them.
Which products work for a doctor's brand
The best first products are the ones you already recommend most. For most practices that means a short routine around the treatments you offer:
- Post-procedure aftercare for patients after microneedling, peels or laser, such as a post-procedure soothing balm or a recovery kit.
- Daily sunscreen, the product almost every patient needs and runs out of fastest. See our sunscreen range.
- A hero serum built around an ingredient patients already ask about, such as PDRN or plant exosomes.
- The basics: a gentle cleanser and a barrier cream, so the routine is complete.
- Scalp care for hair clinics, and oral beauty shots such as collagen for wellness practices.
You can start with a single product and add more once you see what your patients choose. Our catalogue lists every formula ready for your label, and custom formulation builds one from your own protocol.
A worked example
Our minimum order is 500 pieces per product. That sounds like a lot until you set it against a working clinic.
Take a clinic that sees 25 patients a day, six days a week: about 600 visits a month. If one visit in five ends with a sunscreen going home, that is 120 sunscreens a month, and 500 pieces sell through in a little over four months. A patient who uses a sunscreen daily comes back for another, so the second order is easier than the first.
What our team handles
From the first meeting to the reorder, this is the work we do so you do not have to:
- Range planning: a free consultation on your specialty, your patients and the products that fit them.
- Formulation and samples: catalogue formulas or a customised version of your protocol, with samples and patient trials with feedback sheets before you order.
- Brand and packaging: naming, product planning and packaging design if you want help, with labels and cartons printed in-house by Dermis & Dosis Print.
- Testing and paperwork: each product classified before it is formulated, PCSIR testing, stability data, and DRAP documentation and enlistment support where it applies.
- Production: from 500 pieces per product, in retail packs, backbar sizes and sample sachets, with a certificate of analysis for every batch.
- Delivery: to your clinic in any city in Pakistan.
And after launch
- One named account manager from consultation to reorder, so you always know who to call.
- Reorders on a predictable schedule, planned with you so your range does not run out between batches.
- Product photographs and social media posts for your brand, made by our team, so your clinic's pages show the range at its best.
Our For Doctors page covers the regulatory side in detail: which regulator a product answers to, what DRAP asks for, and the few documents you supply yourself.
Doing it the right way with patients
A doctor's brand works because patients trust the doctor. Protect that trust and the range protects your reputation instead of spending it.
- Say it is yours. Tell patients the range is your clinic's own. Patients respect a doctor who stands behind a product with their name on it.
- Recommend only what suits. Suggest a product because it suits the patient in front of you, never because it is yours.
- Leave the choice open. Treatment should never depend on buying the range, and a patient who prefers another brand should hear that it is fine.
- Keep claims cosmetic. A cosmetic helps skin look and feel better; it does not cure a condition. We write every label that way, and our guide to DRAP enlistment explains why the wording matters.
How to start
- Book a free consultation and tell us about your practice and the products you recommend most.
- Choose one to five products and try the samples.
- Approve the formula and the artwork. We handle production, testing and paperwork.
- Launch in your clinic, and let your account manager plan the reorders.
Send your product list through the quote form, or book a meeting with our team. If you are new to private label, start with how to start a skincare brand in Pakistan.
Questions doctors ask
Do I need a company to launch my own brand?
Where a product needs DRAP enlistment, the file asks for a registered company or partnership with an NTN, your CNIC and your trademark application. Plain cosmetics have a simpler route. We confirm which applies to each product before anything is filed; the full list is on our For Doctors page.
Who owns the brand?
You do. In the most common structure your trademark is registered in your name, and Dermis & Dosis is the manufacturer behind it.
What is the minimum order?
500 pieces per product, in any format.
Can I start with one product?
Yes. A good first product is the one you already recommend most, often a sunscreen or an aftercare cream. Add to the range once you see what your patients choose.
Can I sell outside my clinic?
Yes. The brand is yours, so you can sell online or through pharmacies as well as from your front desk. The clinic is the easiest place to start, because patients there already trust your recommendation.
Can I see where my products are made?
Yes. Book a tour of our Lahore facility and walk through formulation, filling, quality control and the printing unit.
