About Lactic Acid Peel

The Lactic Acid Peel is an alpha hydroxy acid peel for professional use, offered in two strengths, 35% and 70%. It is a gentler alternative to glycolic acid within the same family of acids.

Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), like glycolic acid, but its molecule is larger. A larger molecule penetrates the skin more gradually, which is why lactic acid is regarded as the gentler of the two and is often chosen for drier or more sensitive skin. Like other AHA peels, a lactic acid peel is brought to an end with a neutralising solution as its instructions direct.

Clinics use lactic acid peels in protocols for uneven tone, pigmentation, rough texture and fine lines. The 35% strength is used for superficial peels, while the 70% strength is a stronger acid for practitioners experienced in AHA peels. Dermis & Dosis supplies the Lactic Acid Peel from Lahore to licensed clinics, dermatologists and trained aesthetic practitioners across Pakistan, with no public price. Message us on WhatsApp with your clinic's details for price and availability.

In the treatment room

Lactic acid gives a clinic an AHA option for clients whose skin is dry, sensitive or new to peels. With two strengths on the shelf, the 35% can serve superficial peels while the 70% stays with the practitioners who have the experience for it. Keep a neutralising solution in the room, and take technique from the peel's instructions and the practitioner's training.

A gentler acid still calls for the same care. Take a medical history before the first peel, asking about recent oral isotretinoin, active infections, broken or irritated skin and pregnancy, then assess the skin and use a test area where appropriate. Darker skin types, which are common in Pakistan, are more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, so caution applies at both strengths. Give sun protection and aftercare advice after the peel, and keep the bottles closed, away from heat and out of reach of children.

Questions about Lactic Acid Peel

How is lactic acid different from glycolic acid?

Both are alpha hydroxy acids. Glycolic acid is the smallest AHA and penetrates readily; lactic acid is a larger molecule that works more gradually, which is why it is regarded as gentler and is often chosen for drier or more sensitive skin. Both are neutralised at the end of a peel.

Should a clinic stock both the 35% and the 70%?

It depends on who will be peeling. The 35% is used for superficial peels, and the 70% is a stronger acid that belongs with practitioners experienced in AHA peels. A clinic with practitioners at both levels may keep both, so the choice can follow the skin assessment.
