Every TCA peel begins with a consultation and a medical history. Ask about recent oral isotretinoin, active infections such as cold sores, broken or irritated skin, pregnancy and any earlier reaction to a peel, then assess the skin and use a test area where appropriate. Darker skin types, common in Pakistan, carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and that calls for stricter caution as the strength rises.
