Dr. Pen A6 / A1 Cartridges are the replacement needle cartridges for two Dr. Pen microneedling pens, the A6 and the A1. The cartridge is the only part of the pen that touches the client's skin: it fits onto the front of the handpiece and carries the fine needles that do the work of microneedling. Because each one is packed on its own, a fresh, sealed cartridge can be opened for every client.

There are four options: 1P, 12P, 36P and Nano. In microneedling, the number on a cartridge usually refers to how many pins it carries, so a single pin suits detailed work on a small area, while 12P and 36P cover more skin with each pass. Nano is a separate configuration that practitioners choose for particular protocols. Which one to use is the practitioner's call, based on the skin and the area.

In the treatment room

In a microneedling session the cartridge is the last thing fitted before work begins and the first thing thrown away when it ends. Open a new sealed cartridge in front of the client, fit it to a cleaned pen, and discard it in a sharps container afterwards; never reuse one on another client or at a later visit. Keep unopened cartridges sealed and stored somewhere clean and dry until use. A trained practitioner should assess the skin first, avoid broken or infected areas, and follow the manufacturer's instructions for the pen.
