About the Microblading Pen

The Microblading Pen is a manual handpiece for semi-permanent brow work. It holds a microblading blade, and the artist draws each stroke by hand, placing pigment into the upper layers of the skin to create fine lines that imitate individual brow hairs. There is no motor and no power supply: the control comes entirely from the artist's hand. Most artists hold it much like a pencil, so the movement feels familiar from brow mapping and sketching.

It is used for microblading and brow hairstrokes, whether that means shaping a fuller-looking brow, filling sparse patches or rebuilding the line of a brow that has thinned. Because the artist decides the angle, length and pressure of every stroke, the pen allows close control over shape, thickness and where each stroke sits. It works with compatible microblading blades, fitted fresh for each client and discarded once the appointment is over.

In the treatment room

In a brow studio the pen is the centre of a microblading appointment, which begins with consultation, brow mapping and, where the artist's protocol calls for one, a patch test. Use a new sealed blade for every client, clean and disinfect the handle between appointments, wear gloves, and dispose of blades in a sharps container. Microblading breaks the skin, so it belongs with a trained PMU artist who assesses the skin and brows first and follows the blade and pigment manufacturers' instructions.
