[ Why plant exosomes ]

What plant exosomes are, and why brands choose them

Exosomes are tiny vesicles that cells release. In skincare the word has become one of the most searched ingredient names of the last two years, and most of the products behind it fall into two groups: exosomes derived from human or animal cells, and exosomes collected from plants.

Every exosome in our library is plant-derived: from leaves such as centella and tea tree, from flowers such as chamomile, rose and camellia, from rice and oat, from ginseng root, and from seaweeds such as kelp and ecklonia cava. That gives your brand three things to say plainly on the label and in your advertising.

  • Vegan, with no animal or human origin. Ingredients of human origin are not allowed in cosmetics in the EU, for example; a plant source avoids the question.
  • A plant your customer already knows. Centella, rose, rice and green tea need no explaining, so the exosome becomes the modern form of a familiar story.
  • Room to be different. Most exosome products on the market use the same one or two sources. With 35 to choose from, your product can be built around a plant no competitor has.

We use the exosomes in finished products, with the actives that carry the formula: our exosome serum for the face and our exosome and PDRN scalp serum are two examples. Our guide to private label exosome serums explains how they are made and how to describe them on a label.

[ From exosome to product ]

How an exosome product is made with us

  1. Choose the exosome. One, or a pair, from the library, picked for your customer's concern.
  2. Choose the product. A serum, ampoule, toner, cream, mask or scalp serum, with the supporting actives: PDRN, peptides, niacinamide or hyaluronic acid, for example.
  3. Sample it. We make samples and adjust texture and fragrance until you are happy, through custom formulation where needed.
  4. Print the pack. Labels and cartons designed and printed in-house at Dermis & Dosis Print.
  5. Produce from 500 pieces. With the testing your product needs, and cosmetic wording on the label.

Exosome raw material comes with its supplier's certificate of analysis stating the particle concentration. Exosomes in a cosmetic are described with cosmetic claims (soothing, hydration, a brighter-looking tone), never as a treatment; our label guide explains why.

Questions about plant exosomes

What are plant exosomes in skincare?

Exosomes are tiny vesicles that cells release. Plant exosomes, also called plant-derived vesicles, are collected from plant cells: here from leaves, flowers, fruit, grains, roots and seaweeds. In skincare they are a modern way of bringing a plant's own components into a formula, and they sit in serums, toners, creams and scalp products alongside the actives a formula is built on.

What is the difference between plant and human exosomes?

Plant exosomes come from plant cells. Other exosome products are derived from human or animal cells. Plant-derived exosomes are vegan and avoid ingredients of human origin, which the EU, for example, does not allow in cosmetics. For a brand, that makes plant exosomes the simpler story to tell and to sell.

Are plant exosomes vegan and Halal-friendly?

They are plant-derived, with no animal or human origin, so they suit vegan formulas. Printing a Halal logo on a finished product is a separate certification step; we plan it from the start if your customers expect the logo.

Which exosome should I choose?

Start from your customer's concern, then choose one or two exosomes that are known for it: the filter above shows which exosomes are chosen for soothing, hydration, an even-looking tone, ageing-looking skin, oily skin or the scalp. We help you pair them with the actives that carry the formula and confirm the choice before we quote.

What is the minimum order for a private label exosome product?

500 pieces per product, the same low minimum as the rest of our range, with labels and cartons printed in-house.

What does an exosome serum cost to make in Pakistan?

It depends on the exosome or exosomes you choose, the rest of the formula, the bottle and the quantity. Send us your idea and we quote for your exact product, from 500 pieces.

Can exosomes be combined with PDRN, peptides or niacinamide?

Yes. Exosome products are usually built with supporting actives: our exosome serums pair exosomes with ingredients such as PDRN, peptides, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. Each combination is checked for stability and compatibility before you sample it.

Can an exosome serum be used after microneedling?

Clinics often include exosome serums in their aftercare ranges. How and when a product is used after a procedure is the practitioner's decision; a cosmetic serum is labelled for use on intact skin, and we word your label and leaflet that way.
