About the PDT Light with Steam

The PDT Light with Steam combines two facial tools in one station: an LED phototherapy panel and a built-in facial steamer. The skin can be steamed to soften and prepare it, then go straight into an LED session without a second machine being brought to the couch.

LED phototherapy directs low-level light of different colours onto the skin. It is a non-invasive step, and in skincare different colours are used with different aims, such as calming facials, acne-prone skin care and rejuvenation treatments. Steam, meanwhile, warms and softens the surface of the skin, which is why facial therapists have long used it before cleansing and extractions. Put together, they give a simple, familiar sequence: soften the skin first, then finish under the light.

Salons, spas and aesthetic clinics that want LED sessions on the menu without buying separate equipment will find it useful, as will smaller rooms where one combined machine makes better use of the space. In the treatment room

A typical facial with this unit runs cleanse, steam, extractions or exfoliation, mask, then an LED session to finish, so one machine covers two stages. During steaming, keep the steam outlet at a comfortable distance and watch the client's skin, shortening or skipping steam for sensitive or reactive skin. Fill the steamer with the water the manufacturer specifies and clean it as instructed. For the LED stage, give the client eye protection suited to LED light and avoid looking straight into the panel yourself. Never leave a client unattended while the steamer is running.
